  • In working in the area of CSR Testing, I have had the opportunity to see the advantages and limitations of this Test Method. This past year, I watched a NOVA show on PBS called “Picture a Scientist” which talked about discrimination against women in science. In part of the show, it talked about Search Engine Bias, and its adverse effects on women. It also noted how Search Engines were driven more by Advertising and Marketing exposure, than the quality of information. It also suggested that people often assume that a higher search engine response might be considered more credible, which is not necessarily the case. That made me question about how information on Compression Stress Relaxation (CSR) was presented, with respect to its ranking logic, how it might be ranked with the different search engines, and the quality of the information. This prompted me to think about how I would characterize and critique CSR information quality, based on my knowledge and experience, in relation to what information was presented. This paper discusses the principles behind CSR Testing and how the different search engine posting compared to that information.
