Student Poster: Liquid crystal Polymer composites combine the mechanical properties and easy processability of polymeric materials and the optical and electrical properties of liquid crystals (L.Cs). They are promising materials for applications such as electron optics, flexible electronics and actuator technologies. The present work describes the development of a model composite using two materials: an isobutylene-based linear triblock copolymer (SIBSTAR) having a unique combination of properties including biocompatibility and biostability, and a bent-core liquid crystal.
