  • The paper presents an analysis of lateral forces variation between different tires installed on the same type of vehicle and driven in virtually identical conditions. Lateral forces variation is measured by using a three axes accelerometer installed in the vehicle and a precision GPS for speed reference. The data is compiled in order to calculate Driving Severity Number and we're making a comparison between different types of tire wear in correlation with Driving Severity Number. Tires of different models but within the same application category can have different wear pattern when driven in almost identical conditions.
